Who Is LoLo?
LoLo is the owner and lead baker of LoLo’s Cakes, a microbakery based in her hometown Greenville, North Carolina. With over a decade of cake decorating experience, she started her journey into pastries at age 14 when she made her friend's birthday cake (pictured below). At 16, she took her first bakery job learning new techniques and diving into the world of baked goods such as cinnamon rolls, cookies, brownies, and breads. Here her deep passion for baking grew and led to countless nights waking up at 3 AM eager to try new recipes, running to work late with food color-stained hands, and pulling all-nighters to finish cake designs.
Juggling 12-hour shifts as an ICU cardiac nurse while finishing her bachelor's degree, LoLo’s Cakes was a dream that lingered in the background until 2025. After many discussions and doubts expressed, she decided to take the plunge, going part-time in nursing to follow her passion for baking. And so, in January 2025, LoLo’s Cakes began the long journey of becoming a reality. Since then, LoLo’s Cakes has been featured in events around the local community by other small businesses and continues to grow.

Fair to say practice makes perfect!
“It took over a decade to make this dream a reality, one that is still growing. Although I can’t say I’ve made it, I can say I’ve come a far way from that 9 year old girl! If my journey says anything, I hope it inspires others to chase after their dreams and a reminder that everyone starts somewhere....And as for the name, LoLo’s Cakes was actually my mom’s idea. “Short and sweet just like a cupcake!” And well...hard to argue with mom logic.””
